Lawsuit Against Meijer for Employment Discrimination

My firm represents a client by the name of Katherine Fandrich. She was an employee of Meijer Inc. for over nineteen years. As she neared retirement (retirement benefits being vested after 20 years of employment), Meijer wrongfully terminated her employ.

The reason given for the termination was a claim that she violated company policy. As of this date, Meijer has been unable to provide our firm with a copy of the policy my client allegedly violated.

My firm is confident that the process of discovery will reveal employees of Meijer, who are older and/or disabled, have a unique tendency to “violate company policy.” Litigation will make the underlying motivation for my client’s termination clear. As alleged in our complaint, my client was terminated for being an older employee with a disability.
